Leadership
Pastors in Community

There is the community of pastors with whom we began working, training, encouraging, guiding, helping. These men and women are our Christian brothers and sisters.

“It is the same with my word, I send it out, and it always produces fruit.”

Seeing the church as a group of people, who are committed in their faith and willing to grow a vision for their community helps Grassroots Liberia to join with pastors and help them network, encourage one another and together build God’s Kingdom in Liberia.

Working in a place with so many opportunities for ‘caring for the least of these’ we often find the church caught up in internal conflicts and ineffective in reaching out to their surrounding neighbour

As we work through issues and discuss needs it is always a joy to see their vision grow and expand.

These pastors have the potential to be catalysts for change and healing in all of their communities as community leaders.

Being leaders in Liberia is a great challenge.  There are many opportunities for abuse of power and few good role models of servant leadership. We rejoice to see our pastors maintaining their integrity in many difficult circumstances and testifying of God’s faithfulness.

“When you are a Pastor you have power to talk for your people” JS

“If God called you -- Don’t be AFRAID.” MS

We should not feel self sufficient, if we network we will be strengthened.” SB

“We took the GML vision to Compound, Lakayta.  Barriers were broken down, Pastors joined together.  Today we have an association of pastors, working together.” ES

“When you are called be focussed and you will know your enemies” J
