About Grassroots Ministry
Sowing Seeds of Hope

Planting rice, Bong County, Liberia

Grassroots Ministry is about growth and change.

Grass is under foot.

“When elephants fight, grass suffers.”

Grass displays that wonderful miracle of life.  New plants start with small seeds, spreading everywhere. New growth requires stress on the plant, grass spreads as the top is trimmed, the roots shoot out to form new plants.

Grassroots Ministry Liberia has a burden to "let God's people grow".  This burden has resulted in a dual focus on literacy and leadership development

Education and discipleship take place in relationship and dialogue. Our conversations should be the salt to irritate and light to illuminate so that others are encouraged to begin change in their lives

Speaking words of truth into the lives of others, when spoken with love, is like planting seed. We have been planting seed in the hearts of the Liberian people since 2001.

"Remember this - a farmer who plants only a few seed  will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. ...Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be forgotten.Yes, you will be enriched so that you can give even more generously. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will break out in thanksgiving to God."  2 Cor. 9:6-11

We have much to offer Liberia and they themselves can give to others, as they learn. By faith we teach and train people to grow in their knowledge and understanding. From the basics of reading to the more complex ideas of development and cooperation we continue to challenge our people in their lives and nurture them so they can grow to be strong advocates for truth and justice and provide protection and care for the needy ones in their communities.
